BONNEVILLE SALT FLATS
A good friend of mine "Bud Wiley" runs a car at the Salt Flats, so I thought that was a good reason to go to Speed Week.
My son Arthur and I headed out the morning of August, 12th, getting to the Salt Flats about 6:00 P.M. that evening.
The next morning the cars would start there runs.
Bud and Karen set Arthur and I up as part of there crew, so we were not restricted to the spectator area only.
After a while at the starting line each day we would move down track to the 1.5 mile mark.
Flying in is cool, plenty of places to land on the salt flats.
By the time we left, three days before the event closed, Got Salt had hit the events fastest speed at 407 miles per hour.
